Got big plans to redecorate your house next year? Then no doubt you’re already doing some research into what the biggest trends of 2020 are likely to be so you can start putting your room plans together and deciding what you like and what you don’t.
Those of you intending on giving the walls a coat of fresh paint might want to have a little look at Behr’s 2020 Colour of the Year, which has been dubbed Back to Nature (S34-4), a yellowy green shade created to reflect our growing interest in wellness, self-care and the general urge to reconnect with the great outdoors.
Vice-president of colour and creative services with the company Erika Woelfel said green is a colour that symbolises mortality and life, whisking us off to a place that “feels effortless, like a hike in the woods or a walk on the beach”.
She went on to say: “It can work hand in hand with simple or maximal styling, whether your goal is to transform kitchen cabinetry with a new neutral look or simply make a small space feel more open and airy.”
Other colours set to be big news next year are, according to Coloro, deeper, grounded yellows, subdued oranges, a fusion of pink and purple, softer and sunnier blue shades and neo mint, an optimistic and forward-thinking tone that is sure to look lovely on the walls at home.
